Surfing on Bondi

So this is completely out of order, but I felt like blogging and these are the only pics I actually took on my camera. Plus they are just too awesome to wait in a folder on my desktop. Plus there is not rule that blogs have to be chronological...right?? Well not on this blog anyways.

The parentals had a surfing lesson included in their groupon travel pack, and of course, for those of you that know my mother, if it was included they of course were going to do it. Even though I don't think I've ever seen my dad less excited to do something. But if you are going to have your first surfing lesson, Bondi is a pretty epic beach to start at. Even if you go in May which is basically winter in Australia, and the waves were the biggest I'd ever seen at Bondi that day....

I was put off by the super chillyness of the day....and didn't want to pass up the chance to sit on the beach, take pictures, and probably laugh till I cried, so I turned down the lesson and played paparazzi instead.

Notice that they are practically the only people at the beach. Even though it was sunny, it was sooo not beach weather.

Looking pro and super excited:)

Yep that's my parents.they looked pretty legit....until they got in the water:)

The current was freakishly strong and so they spent a good portion of time dragging their
boards across the beach/trying to get out into the waves

It was a little slow going so I took a walk:)

Along the coast a wee bit.

He did actually spend some time in the water...promise.

Mom. Looking pro, but really just complaining to me that it was hard:)

See my dad in the middle at the waaayyy bottom? he is in fact half, kinda sorta standing on his board and not on the beach!!!! Success moment in surfing....fail moment in photography.

Beach babes.
I got good pics of dad when he wasn't on his board.....but I don't think he appreciates them much...

Mom!!!! Riding the wave like a pro!
So I didn't actually end up laughing as much as I wanted to, mostly because they were trying so hard and it really was some crap waves for surfing. And I'll admit they gave it more of a solid effort than I was expecting! This blog should inspire you all...if they can do it, you can too:)
