Vegas Baby!!!

Now you're confused right?!?! a post about Vegas on a blog about Australia? bahahaha. I basically tricked you into thinking you were going to read a way cool blog and now that you're addicted you're going to find out that really you just get to read about my life. And all the insanity that comes with it:)

But back to the title....me and my bestie/roomie went to Vegas last week!!! And we basically rocked it. We walked the strip...with a puppy. Not one of our best ideas as Sadie feels the need to take naps every five feet and has a freakish love for fake grass. But we did it sans-puppy and had fun too:)

So now you get lots of pretty pictures:)
Look....a pretty rainbow! and taken out of a car window.we.have.skills.

Cute little puppy face!!!who can resist?

Why yes my head is covering the "io" and no there is not a new hotel on the strip called the "Bellag".

Phone calls from the lobby of the Bellagio....because obviously we are just that cool.

Anyone want to buy this ceiling and then donate to my future home??

Yep, that's a fake penguin and Staci!!!

I point awkwardly in pictures and Staci just snaps them instead of telling me I'm awkward.

The ultimate holiday card!!! I wish! This is an amazing mural-esque thing that was made entirely out of flowers.

This is us trying to pretend that us standing in front of  the fake , mini Eiffel tower is as cool as our roommate being at the real one in France currently:(

You basically can't tell the difference right?!?

This is my "I just won the lottery and am going on a shopping spree at Gucci" face....I practiced just in case:)

Everything looks cooler in Vegas...Ross and we even saw a Motel 6 that looked enticing.

Classic coke drinking face...everyone does this, you don't??try it....and then send me a picture:)

Why do I have a picture where we mostly just look sunburnt? Well  we are in an elevator!Inside a Coke bottle!!
Guess you had to be there:)

Proof that we don't melt in the sun.

Staci's dad works on Thunderbirds so we went to the base to visit. SO.COOL.

We do love each other, but really it was just that freezing outside.

Staci and her daddy!

life begins...

...at the end of your comfort zone. I just found this quote and I think it is good for me to remember at the start of my new adventure.

So finals are officially over, which means no school for two months...WOOHOO. However, it also means I can't ignore my mile long to-do list anymore. But instead of using all my new found free time productively I have just found so many more forms of procrastination. And to portray my skills of procrastination I'm going to list all my forms of procrastination for you!!! (feel free to borrow my ideas for your own personal use!)
1. My roommate got a puppy....let me tell you they are fun!!! (<shout out to Staci) side note if you take up this form of procrastination: PLEASE go get a puppy from the pound. That's were Sadie is from and there are lots of other adorable puppies with sad faces that would love for you to take them home:(
2. One of my besties graduated from college so of course we have to party (<shout out to Ashlyn)
3. My other roommate went to Europe, which meant a going away party (<shout out to Danny)....so this isn't a picture she took, but let's all just imagine her holding a camera looking at the same thing:)

4. After a long anti-pinterest protest I gave in...and have never looked back.
...and all these are just the recently added forms of procrastination. As a college student I of course already had a sufficiently long list:)

And because it is my third blog post and I am already out of things to say I'm going to share some quotes. Honestly I love quotes when I'm having a bummer of a day sometimes it's so lovely to read a little pick-me-up. So enjoy! (also I probably won't source any of these so please don't report me to the blog plagiarism police, but also note that I am not that clever and did not come up with any of these!)

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great" -Mark Twain

"Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes"

"If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is WAKE UP."

"Never sacrifice who you are just because someone has a problem with it."

"The happiest people don't have the best of everything they just make the best of everything."

"Judging a person does not define who they are. It defines who you are."

"Do not lose hold of your dreams or aspirations, for if you do, you may still exist but you have ceased to live."

i.hate.planning.

I am not a planner. I am the girl who makes plans the day of...if five minutes before is too short notice. So planning five months of my life, two months in advance from a couple thousand miles away...stressing me out a little bit. Seriously I am always thinking about things. thing to do before I leave.where to live.where to go in NZ.what to do in Australia.school in Australia.what to pack.will I love it.traveling while in Australia.will i hate it.how to get around.being attacked by kangaroos. (okay...not really the last one. if anything that would be a fabulous story to tell!!!but I don't think that really happens? well dang just gave myself one more thing to ponder...)

but eww...enough complaining from the poor, little girl who gets to go to Australia:)
Fun facts for the day....I just google mapped how to walk from Phoenix to Sydney. 14635 miles, 193 days and 18 hours.  This lovely trip includes kayaking across the pacific and the instructions from step 330 to 497 are 90% either "take the crosswalk" or "cross the road". So for those of you that were planning on walking there to visit me I hope you are leaving within the next 9 days or your going to miss me:)

since there will several comments on my bombdiggety pictures last post...I'm trying a different approach:) So here is Macquarie University preview...

Here is the school logo. wootwoot. Apparently in Australia school spirit is like non-existent. So no school sports teams, mascot, or anything. lame.

Yes, Macquarie has a lake. It's okay you can be jealous.
This is going to be me....being studious in class ALL the time.

I feel way pressured for this to be epic...

AHHH!!!! My first blog post. I am having a slight panic attack that involves these words being posted forever and everyone forming an initial judgment on my life based on these.words. So ya, I would say there is a little bit of pressure for this to be epic, profound, and mildly life changing. But I am just going to put a disclaimer in now....if you are searching for that kind of reading, feel free to leave my blog now and keep searching.

All right, so lets get started. If your reading this you probably already know way too much about me because I don't think I'm going to share it with the world. Only those lucky enough that I think might actually care about my life. Soo sorry if I over-estimated how much you care:)
By now your probably wondering why in the world I started a blog as I have shared absolutely nothing worth reading yet....Well I have secretly always wanted to blog, but alas my life really has not been blog-worthy. But since I got the most amazing opportunity in the world, I figured I would give it a go.

Oh the suspense is killing you now...what "amazing opportunity" is she referring to?? Just kidding....again if your reading this you probably already know. I am going to study abroad in Australia!!! So here are some details.  I will be at Macquarie University, about 30 minutes outside of Sydney.  I will be there from the middle of February to the end of June.  And lucky me, I am backpacking for two weeks in New Zealand before my semester starts.  So this blog will hopefully keep you informed of my craziness abroad...and help me remember what I did while I was there because I have the memory of (insert animal with a very bad memory here).

So in the mean time I am finishing finals, planning my life in another continent, and being a bum. It is noon right now and I am still in my p.j.s. I thought I would document how un-amazing I look at the start of our amazing journey together. so here. for your entertainment and enjoyment...

This was the picture that was to accompany the visual of me being a total bum.

This is what happens when my web cam just keeps snapping photos.

And again....

And yes this is my confused face....which is standard more often than I like to admit.

Welcome to my technology challenged life.
Hopefully the content and pictures on this blog will continue to improve. If not...my deepest apologies.  The next month or two will probably be just pre-travel craziness so if you want to wait till February to check back for the good stuff...I won't hate you:)
