After I finished MY LAST CLASS AT MACQUARIE (whaaa???), Jamie and I took the train in to meet up with some peeps for a delightful pizza dinner and to enjoy the sights of vivid. Vivid is the thing they put on (apparently annually?) in downtown Sydney. It's a slew of concerts, speakers, and more importantly lights. It celebrates like innovation and creativity and all that jazz. But anyways the part that we enjoyed last night was the lights. They light up buildings downtown in spectacular ways and then have waaaaayyyyy cool light sculptures as well. I'm pretty sure my mouth was hanging open.like.the.entire.time. For those of you that understand how much I love zoolights and how fantasmic those are.....well this is like zoolights on steroids. epic. And the best part is I think I get to go again on Monday:)
So of course my camera takes especially horrible photos at night. There is probably a setting I can change to make it better, or I could probably edit them to make them better.......but you are so used to craptastic photos that I wouldn't want to ruin the trend we have going here:)

The Custom House. Also where we ate dinner......if you're in Sydney, Young Alfreds=delicious. |
The group!!! |
So basically you could stand and watch the customs house all night except there are a gazillion other awesome sights to behold as well. But the customs house was set to a sound track. epic. So you can't really see, but this pic they have like a cityscape....where the sun rose and set, cars driving, and planes flying over..... |
A flower explosion. |
The art museum |
That face is just too good not to share. Nikki and Gaz. |
Partial Burrell family. The whole night was us pretending to celebrate Jesse's bday (far right) but really I think that was just an excuse as we had missed her bday by almost a month.... |
Round 2. |
Partial extended Burrell fambam. |
The "we don't have any other family here" family picture. |
Personal fav. I love chandeliers.
I especially love giant chandeliers lit up pink and blue suspended in front of the harbor bridge. |
Oh you know, just creepin on some wedding photos being taken. |
Giant blue onion. |
With musical chimes inside of course..... |
Even the normal lights are cooler than usual. |
I promise that even the opera house was lit up. And even though it wasn't my favorite, I did try to take pics for you.
This is the result. You're welcome. Good luck seeing the opera house:) |
This sculpture looked kinda pathetic in real life.....but looks semi awesome in the photo. See better than being there in real life. HA. kidding. a total lie. get yourself to Sydney for this one. |
I.want.for.my.room. |
Don't you think you'd sleep better with sea urchin looking things that lit up watching over you??? |
Parana mobiles.....I sooo want to cruise around Sydney in one of these puppies. |
And then I was educated that the iphone takes pretty good pics at night....so here you go again. the iphone version. And if you couldn't tell from the first 50 pictures....I.still.loved.it. Sorry that the pictures are just not as awesome as being in Sydney on a lovely (yet freezing) night walking around the harbor thinking how awesome your life is....
Who starts singing "I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike"? |
There you go. I tried again, with semi- more success. |
Again the picture fails, but they were able to make it look like the sails were blowing in the wind. epic. |
Everyone loves a glowing red igloo.... |
Magical I tell you. |
And then.....I got an app that lets me edit pics. So I just randomly swipe my finger and think I know what I'm doing, feeling artsy and awesome. And I wind up with random pictures like these.....which in reality are hard to tell from the originals. But pretend you like them better anyways. kk?
I'm just now adding this one, because I like it. But since it's actually a good one I of course didn't take it. Photo cred goes to Helen:)
