Paronella Park

This is the last of the pics from when my parentals were here....only like a month after they've left. fail.

But anyways on our tour of the tablelands outside of Cairns we stopped at Paronella Park. Which none of us had ever even heard of, and probably the majority of the rest of Australia hasn't either. This guy started building his house/ballroom/swimming area/lovey dovey walks/gardens/anything else he could think of in like the 30s? possibly? anyways a while ago and back then it would have been a happening place!!! But of course somewhere along the way he or someone in his fambam ran out of money and the place just kind of went to ruins. But a few years ago some peeps bought it, started restoring it, and we got to tour/wander around for a while. The place is absolutely gorgeous. seriously stunning. They also do weddings here, so if you were planning on having your wedding in the middle of nowhere Queensland....I would so come:)

The waterfall and suspension bridge. For those of you that think dams are cool....this guy built one like a electricity generating one....whatever those are called. wayyyy before it was cool. And they still use it. whaaa???

Big umbrellas just inspire the Mary Poppins in me....can't help it.

even trees in a row end up looking awesome. there was no where in this place where you were like "ew, this view stinks."

You can't really tell but there is a mass of turtles/eels in the water here. And they used to go swimming in it. heebiejeebies.

If I was an only child there would be thousands more of these awkward solo photos.
Finally found a good reason for the little bro...

oops. so workout time. turn your head/computer till these stair ascend normally......then enjoy how pretty they are.

Wouldn't this phot be 1000x cooler if it was actually in like the 1920s and I had period appropriate attire. Yes, yes it would. Use your imagination ready, go.
